From Promise to Progress

In this bargaining cycle, every proposal we bring forward will challenge the elements of our school system that operate as average. Prince George’s County is exceptional. Our brilliance and innovation come from our diversity. And yet, we have real challenges: vacancies, inefficiencies, and inequities. It’s time to move beyond promises and make real progress.

July 1, 2025 – Bargaining Update

Bargaining Status: Tentative Agreement Reached!

After months of dedicated bargaining, we’re excited to announce that we have reached a tentative agreement with PGCPS!

Highlights of the Tentative Agreement

Article 6 | Asynchronous Professional Development Days: 6.1 A
Article 8 | Non-Teaching Duties: I and J
Article 15 | Classroom Management and Discipline: (New) H and I
Article 21 | Fringe Benefits: 21.10 – Disposition of Unused Leave

Salary Settlement Breakdown:
COLA applies to the entire salary scale. The 3% Differential in the first year is applied to the top step of each grade.

Everyone eligible for a step receives their annual step. Then, during the first year of the agreement, all those eligible advance two additional steps.

For example, in Year 1 of the agreement, if you are on Step 4, you’ll move to Step 5 and then slide 2 steps forward, so you’ll be at Step 7.

Likewise, in Year 1 of the agreement, if you are on Step 15, you’ll move to Step 16, and then slide to Step 18.

You can view the full Tentative Agreement here.

What’s Next?

The ratification vote will begin after the August Representative Council Assembly Meeting.

Once ratified, all economic provisions will be retroactive to July 1st. Members will receive detailed information about the ratification process and voting timeline in the coming weeks.

We want to thank all members for their solidarity and support throughout this process. Stay tuned for more details and make your voice heard in the upcoming vote.

In solidarity,

Your Bargaining Team
