We must position ourselves to continue to build on our effectiveness at the bargaining table by increasing our density, capacity, and solidarity through member organizing. Doing this through targeted one-on-one conversations with trained member organizers is key.
Applicants should be passionate about racial, social, and economic justice, detail-oriented, committed to the labor movement, and willing to have conversations about the importance of union membership.
Participants will work 5-10 hours per week including afternoons and weekends to receive a stipend for the 10-month program. To apply, you must be a dues-paying member and have a vehicle, cell phone, and laptop available to use for the duration of the program.
No prior union experience is necessary. Organizers will be trained on the basics of power and organizing – how to effectively communicate and mobilize peers to win and implement a meaningful contract.
Organizers for 2024 will work July 2024 through May 2025.
Organizers must be available to work 5 to 10 hours per week.
We need members who will be available to canvass, attend the NEA Summer Leadership Conference on July 23rd – 25th, assist with PEIP and attend biweekly training throughout the 10 months.

To apply, you must have a vehicle, cell phone, and laptop available to use for organizing purposes for the duration of the program.
