From Promise to Progress

In this bargaining cycle, every proposal we bring forward will challenge the elements of our school system that operate as average. Prince George’s County is exceptional. Our brilliance and innovation come from our diversity. And yet, we have real challenges: vacancies, inefficiencies, and inequities. It’s time to move beyond promises and make real progress.

April 8, 2025 – Bargaining Update

Important Update on Bargaining Session

This week, our team submitted proposals on the Placement of Unit 1 Members on the Salary Schedule and other Miscellaneous items. This is our last batch of contract proposals.

Stay Engaged: Spring Into Action

We must stay united and engaged as we continue our negotiations with PGCPS. At our last session, management claimed financial constraints, yet their fund balance tells a different story. PGCPS has a fund balance of $373.9 million

Why Your Participation is Vital:

  • Strength in Numbers: The more members actively participate, the stronger our position becomes.
  • Transparency: We must hold management accountable and ensure they come prepared to bargain.
  • Solidarity: Your presence and voice can make a significant difference in achieving a ratified contract.

Enjoy your Spring Break and be ready to spring into action at our next session on April 22nd.  Your involvement is key to driving positive change.
