Opportunity to Learn

The coronavirus health crisis has impacted us all and has clearly shined a bright light on inequities that existed long before it’s time. One of the greatest inequities that we are seeing in k-12 education is that if the digital divide. As school systems have moved to “distance learning” in an attempt to ensure that all of our students are still learning, we now know that many students and educators are without access to quality affordable internet and other technology. As such the Prince George’s County Educators’ Association (PGCEA) is calling on elected officials to act, and internet companies to provide free access for all educators and students during the COVID-19 global pandemic.
