Dear State Delegate/Senator Incumbents and Perspective Candidates,

PGCEA would like to formally invite you to participate in our endorsement process for the 2018 Primary Election cycle. As in the past, we will endorse candidates seeking or currently holding the position of state delegate or senator in each district representing Prince George’s County. Both incumbents and candidates seeking a position in an open seat are encouraged to participate. Questionnaires and supporting materials are due back to PGCEA by 11:59 pm Monday, November 6, 2017. Click here to access the questionnaire. Both candidates and incumbents seeking the PGCEA endorsement are required to submit the following:

  •         A headshot in .jpeg or .gif form, suitable for posting on a website
  •         Complete, signed, and dated questionnaire. Please be certain to provide a detailed explanation for each question.
  •         On a separate piece of paper, please answer the following question: “What was your position on HB1107, the bill that restructured the elected school board? What facts, statistics or items of information guided your decision in this issue?”

All materials must be submitted to Jamal Miller, jmiller@pgcea.org by 11:59 pm Monday, November 6, 2017. All pictures and questionnaires will be placed on the PGCEA website.

It is also encouraged that each candidate and incumbent seriously seeking the PGCEA endorsement Shadow a Teacher for a Day. Shadowing a teacher is not mandatory to participate in the endorsement process. Please CLICK HERE to receive instructions on how to participate in this experience.

Please note that submission of and adherence to the above does not guarantee an interview or endorsement. If you have any additional questions about the endorsement process, please contact Jamal Miller at jmiller@pgcea.org. Thank you for your willingness to participate in our endorsement process and we look forward to receiving your materials.
